Role and Responsibilities
The Data Center Technician is responsible for providing on-site technical support for enterprise server hardware located at a customer data center site. This role involves hands-on troubleshooting, repair, preventative maintenance, and installation activities, working in coordination with remote support teams. The position is fully onsite and supports long-term data center operations.
What we need your help with
- Triage issues with direction from senior technical resources
- Execute plans of action from senior technical resources
- Document plan-of-action results, logs, and service reports, including part numbers and PPIDs of old/new parts replaced
- Reseat parts, swap or replace components
- Conduct server testing and validation, including running diagnostics, capturing, and uploading logs
- Upgrade firmware as needed
- Manage parts lockers, inbound and outbound parts
- Manage spare parts during deployment activities
- Coordinate parts returns
What we are looking for
- High School Diploma or GED required
- Technical certification or Associate Degree an asset
- Up to five (5) years of experience in a related area of responsibility
- Comfortable working fully onsite in a data center environment
Working Environment / Conditions
- Fully onsite role based in Prince George, BC
- Five (5) days onsite
