Position Title

Contract ESTIMATOR

LOCATION: NEW BRUNSWICK/NOVA SCOTIA/PEI

About the Opportunity

They are currently seeking a Construction Estimator to join their team. This role is critical in developing accurate, detailed cost estimates that support competitive bidding, effective project planning, and successful project execution.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare detailed and accurate cost estimates, including labour, materials, equipment, and subcontractor pricing
  • Analyze drawings, specifications, and project documentation to define scope and requirements
  • Solicit, review, and compare subcontractor and supplier quotations
  • Collaborate with project managers, superintendents, and internal teams to ensure alignment with project needs
  • Prepare and submit bids and proposals within established timelines
  • Stay current on industry pricing, market trends, and construction methods
  • Review addendums, changes, and updates to ensure estimates reflect the most accurate information
  • Support project handoff to operations teams once awarded
  • Contribute to continuous improvement of estimating processes and standards
  • Assist with additional tasks and projects as required

Qualifications

  • Post-secondary education in Construction Management, Engineering, Estimating, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
  • 2–3+ years of experience in construction estimating
  • Strong understanding of construction drawings, specifications, and building systems
  • Proficiency with estimating software, Microsoft Office, and digital takeoff tools
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • High attention to detail with the ability to meet tight deadlines
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously
  • Valid driver’s licence considered an asset
