About the Opportunity
Our client is a growing construction company known for delivering high-quality projects and building strong, lasting relationships. With a strong focus on teamwork, accountability, and craftsmanship, they are committed to supporting the growth and development of their employees.
They are currently seeking a Construction Estimator to join their team. This role is critical in developing accurate, detailed cost estimates that support competitive bidding, effective project planning, and successful project execution.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare detailed and accurate cost estimates, including labour, materials, equipment, and subcontractor pricing
- Analyze drawings, specifications, and project documentation to define scope and requirements
- Solicit, review, and compare subcontractor and supplier quotations
- Collaborate with project managers, superintendents, and internal teams to ensure alignment with project needs
- Prepare and submit bids and proposals within established timelines
- Stay current on industry pricing, market trends, and construction methods
- Review addendums, changes, and updates to ensure estimates reflect the most accurate information
- Support project handoff to operations teams once awarded
- Contribute to continuous improvement of estimating processes and standards
- Assist with additional tasks and projects as required
Qualifications
- Post-secondary education in Construction Management, Engineering, Estimating, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
- 2–3+ years of experience in construction estimating
- Strong understanding of construction drawings, specifications, and building systems
- Proficiency with estimating software, Microsoft Office, and digital takeoff tools
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- High attention to detail with the ability to meet tight deadlines
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
- Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously
- Valid driver’s licence considered an asset
